Mobile, Non-Invasive Abdominal Imaging
EZ Diagnostic Imaging Services provides mobile abdominal ultrasound examinations for clinics, care facilities, and home-based patients. An abdominal ultrasound uses sound waves to create images of organs and structures in the abdomen without using radiation.
What Is an Abdominal Ultrasound?
An abdominal ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging examination that may be used by a healthcare provider to evaluate abdominal organs and nearby structures. Depending on the order and clinical need, an examination may include the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, abdominal aorta, or other relevant anatomy.
Complete and Limited Abdominal Ultrasound Examinations
A complete examination evaluates the abdominal structures included in the ordering protocol. A limited examination focuses on a specific organ, area, or clinical question identified by the ordering provider. The ordering provider and interpreting clinician determine the appropriate study and use the results in the patient’s care.
What to Expect
During the examination, a trained ultrasound technician applies a small amount of gel to the skin and moves a handheld transducer over the abdomen to obtain images. Preparation instructions can vary by study, so follow the directions provided when the appointment is scheduled.
Convenient Mobile Ultrasound for Care Settings
Our mobile service brings ultrasound imaging to qualifying locations, reducing the need for transport and coordinating care where the patient is. We work with clinics, hospitals, skilled nursing and assisted-living facilities, home-health organizations, and other appropriate care settings.
